I grew up around family law. As the daughter of two (divorced) family law attorneys parents, I saw from an early age that the way families choose to engage with the law shapes their future long after a case is over. My early experiences fostered my interest in understanding people, relationships, and interpersonal conflict. The desire to help families through some of life’s most significant transitions led me to pursue family law as a career.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating summa cum laude with the highest honors from the Liberal Arts Honors Program and earning induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. I then attended The University of Texas School of Law, where I co-founded the Texas Family Law Society and focused my studies on negotiation, conflict resolution, family law.
I began my legal career representing clients in high-conflict family litigation. I tried multiple cases, handled countless contested hearings, and advocated for clients facing incredibly difficult circumstances. That experience made me a very strong courtroom attorney.
It also completely changed the way I think about dispute resolution.
I’ve seen firsthand what prolonged litigation can do to families. Even when a client achieves a favorable outcome, years of conflict leave lasting effects on parents, children, and the financial security many families work so hard to build.
My experiences are why I shifted my practice to emphasize the collaborative framework and other non-litigious resolution methods instead of a hotly-contested court battle. My goal is not simply to resolve legal disputes, it is to utilize a trauma-informed approach to help clients create lasting solutions that protect both their future and the family’s interests as a whole. I help my clients build a stable foundation for the future. Whether working in the context of a collaborative divorce, a cooperative custody matter, a modification, or a premarital/postmarital agreement, I believe the best outcomes come from understanding each family’s unique interests and helping them create customized, enduring solutions.
My psychology background is central to my practice. Family transitions are deeply personal, and every client brings different experiences, concerns, and goals to the table. I strive to create an environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make decisions based on their long-term interests rather than short-term frustrations.
I am an active member of Collaborative Divorce Texas and the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Collaborative Law, and Family Law, Sections of the State Bar of Texas. I also participate in the Collin County Women Lawyers Association and the Collin, Denton, and Dallas Bar Associations.
Outside the office, I enjoy traveling with my husband, Vince, discovering new restaurants, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and volunteering with Operation Kindness.
